Five-Day Online Boot Camp for Eco-Volunteers Kicks Off Under Punjab Green Credit Program

LAHORE: The five-day online boot camp for eco-volunteers has commenced under the Chief Minister Punjab Green Credit Program, an initiative of the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department Punjab. The program aims to provide youth with an opportunity to learn about the Government of Punjab’s climate finance model, including climate actions and the use of an online dashboard.
The sessions cover key topics such as an introduction to the project, the Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) framework, and climate actions related to three critical sectors: waste, land, and biodiversity.

The opening remarks were delivered by Rizwana Anjum, Team Lead of the CM Punjab Green Credit Program, while the closing remarks were given by Tahir Masood Qureshi, Environmental Innovations Manager. The session was conducted by Green Credit Officers Salman Ahmed and Syed Fahad Hussain.
The interactive sessions witnessed the participation of around 200 eco-volunteers from across Punjab. Participants expressed their strong motivation to contribute to environmental protection and appreciated the provincial government’s initiatives to combat climate change. They urged for the program’s expansion across the province to make Punjab a climate-resilient region and set an example for other provinces and global best practices.
