First Pakistani Scientist to Receive the Digital Green Talent Award

Dr. Muhammad Haroon Rashid, Assistant Professor in the Department of Forestry and Range Management at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, has been honoured with the prestigious Digital Green Talent Award by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. He received this international recognition for his outstanding contributions in the field of sustainable forestry and addressing the challenges of climate change. Dr. Haroon has also been awarded the Youth Excellence Award by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in acknowledgment of his significant research efforts in environmental sciences. He holds the distinction of conducting pioneering research on bamboo-based carbon sequestration in Pakistan and has worked on forestry-related research projects in Germany, the USA, and China. In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Haroon plays a vital role in mobilizing youth under the Green Youth Movement, encouraging environmental conservation across the country.
