CMPGCP Concludes Five-Day Boot Camp for Climate Actions

LAHORE: The Chief Minister Punjab Green Credit Program (CMPGCP) successfully concluded its five-day online boot camp for eco-volunteers, with the final session focusing on Climate Finance. The concluding session was delivered by CMPGCP Task Team Lead, Rizwana Anjum, who highlighted pathways to accessing international climate finance and underscored the role of innovative financing in building a climate-resilient Punjab.
Organized under the Environment Protection and Climate Change Department, the boot camp aimed to equip young eco-volunteers with knowledge and tools to actively support the Government of Punjab’s climate initiatives. The program provided participants with hands-on training on the province’s climate finance model, including climate actions and the use of the CMPGCP online dashboard.
Over the course of five days, experts including Environmental Innovations Manager Tahir Masood Qureshi, Green Credit Officers Salman Ahmed and Syed Fahad Hussain, and other CMPGCP officials conducted sessions covering a wide range of themes. These included an introduction to the Green Credit Program, the Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) framework, and climate actions across six priority sectors: air, water, waste, land, biodiversity, and public awareness.
Volunteers also received training on the registration process, MRV form submission, and the use of the E-Bike Tracker application. The practical component of the training demonstrated how citizen-led actions can be tracked and translated into measurable “green credits,” directly linking individual efforts to broader climate goals.

CMPGCP Task Team Lead, Rizwana Anjum praised the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants, noting that the strong engagement throughout the boot camp reflects the growing commitment of eco-volunteers to climate action.
“This has been an inspiring journey of learning and collaboration. The energy and commitment of our eco-volunteers give us confidence that awareness is truly being transformed into meaningful action,” she said.
Participants expressed their strong motivation to contribute to environmental protection and appreciated the provincial government’s initiatives to combat climate change. They urged for the program’s expansion across the province to make Punjab a climate-resilient region and set an example for other provinces and global best practices.
The program reaffirmed CMPGCP’s mission to empower eco-volunteers and institutions through innovative climate action frameworks. With the success of this boot camp, officials expressed hope that eco-volunteers will become vital partners in promoting sustainable practices and driving Punjab towards a greener, climate-resilient future.
